Roadrunner Campground - Lake Pleasant - Peoria, AZ - May 3rd/4th/5th 2013

First trip was a success! Had so much fun and I am so glad we bought the trailer!
Can't wait to upgrade to something newer. lol

So it all started on Friday. I woke up and went to my mom's house to pick up the trailer. I loaded stuff up from over there, and then towed it over to the apartment complex and started loading all our stuff up in it.

Unfortunately, Steph had to help her mom this weekend for her mom's wedding, so every night she would have to drive up there and then drive back the next day.

So me and Tyeson were off. We stopped to get gas and ice and then headed to the lake.

When we got there I started getting everything set up, our campsite was pretty awesome.

I finally settled down and listened to music and enjoyed the scenery while Tyeson slept.

After a while, Steph finally made it up and we cooked hotdogs for dinner, and watched the sun go down.

When it was dark, we were sitting outside and we heard a rattle, and Steph knew exactly what that was, a rattlesnake. And Tyeson was about to go up to it so I yanked his leash back and put him in the trailer. The snake wasn't even 10 feet from us and even closer to Tyeson. Needless to say, the snake didn't last.

We went to bed after that. lol. Oh and Steph seen a big skunk in our camp shortly after that.

The next morning Steph got a nice picture of the sunrise from the trailer window.

We decided to take a walk down to shore.

Our trailer

We got back and had lunch.

Steph had to leave so me and Tyeson took another walk down to the shore to hang out.

We sat down and watched the boats and jet skis pass. I was disappointed because we couldn't bring out jet ski since we towed the trailer. :(

Tyeson kinda liked the waves

We headed back and waited for Steph to come back. When she did, we started a fire and began out night. Although we turned in a little earlier and she read a book and I watched King of the Hill on my lap top.

We headed to bed, til the morning'

We woke up and and hung out for a little and then packed up and headed for the dump station.

(oh we noticed this scorpion under our rug)

At the dump station we had a problem (lets just say it was a little messy and embarrassing) lol Not bad for the first time.

I had a great trip! :)

The Work

So first off what we did was painted those nasty wheels:

Steph scrubbing old paint and grime:

Then we tore up the old linoleum floor and also took out the toilet which had a leak:

Found a toilet on Craigslist for $150:

And bought a new faucet:

Added new flooring:

Here is the bathroom pretty much complete:

The tires were old and needed replaced so I drove to Mesa and got 4 tires mounted and balanced for only $380:

With the new tires:

My friend Josh made me two Fox stickers to match my truck:

And testing out the new weight distributing hitch on a trip to Wal-Mart:

We did more stuff to the trailer but this is all I took pictures of. Next post will be of our first trip. It will be at the beginning of May for a couple nights at the Roadrunner campground at Lake Pleasant.

The Trailer

Me and Steph bought a trailer back in January. It is pretty old (1978 Prowler) but we love it. It needed some work but for $1200, it wasn't a bad deal. Over the next few months me and my dad did some work on it to make it how it is today.

This is the night we brought it home (I hated the hubcaps):

 Exterior Shots:

Took off hubcaps which had tons of spider webs and eggs (not pictured)

Interior Pics:

Next post I will show just some of the stuff we did to the trailer.
